Elizabet Eberhard, CT, Telehealth
*Liz is currently accepting new clients for Telehealth only
Hi, I’m Liz, a licensed counselor in Ohio who works with children, teens, adults, and couples. I have experience working with concerns such as substance use, anger management, and oppositional and defiant behaviors, as well as relationship and couples-related concerns. I also work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and life or adjustment-related challenges. I love supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate complex dynamics, transitions, and personal growth.
My approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) within a person-centered, strengths-based framework that focuses on each client’s individual experiences and abilities.
I help clients focus on both understanding their experiences and addressing what they’re feeling in the present. While it can be natural to try to make sense of why something happened, we can sometimes get stuck there while still feeling the impact of it. I pay close attention to how past experiences continue to show up in your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses. I think of the therapy space as a place where we can take what feels tangled or overwhelming internally and begin to lay it out in a way that makes most sense to carry or let go of. Together, we can identify patterns, make connections, and organize those thoughts and experiences so they feel more manageable and meaningful.
Through my work during college, I had the opportunity to help individuals experiencing hair loss related to chemotherapy, which also led me to develop a strong interest in working with individuals and families navigating medical diagnoses and major health-related life changes. I am passionate about supporting clients as they process, adjust, and move through different significant transitions.I am currently pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Duquesne University and am primarily seeing clients through telehealth at this time.
I’ve known from a young age that I wanted to pursue a career in helping others in this way, and I’m happy to see how far I’ve made it to be doing this work. One of the most meaningful parts of my role is helping my clients not only navigate life’s hardships, but also recognize and appreciate their own growth and potential.
